Parking in Hanoi
Shopping Mall Parking in Hanoi by Motorbike: Basement Levels, Tickets and Who Sets the Fee
About 7 minutes to read
A mall visit by motorbike starts at the basement or car-park entrance, and the pages read for this guide describe that moment in uneven detail. The city’s price decision covers street-side parking, while venue pages for AEON MALL Long Bien, Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi and the Chợ Mơ centre describe layout; only one gives a ticket procedure and a motorbike fee. This guide reports what each page says about mall basement motorbike parking in Hanoi, who sets the fee, and what the pages leave out. Dates are day/month/year as the pages print them, except 2024-12-08 (year-month-day), which comes from the Chợ Mơ page’s data; details can change, so confirm with the venue before leaving.
Who sets the fee: the city decision and the malls
The Hanoi city portal (page time 22:31 16/10/2026) reports that Vice-Chairman Trương Việt Dũng signed Decision No. 5794/QĐ-UBND on 15/10/2026. It sets prices for bicycles, motorbikes and cars at points that temporarily use roadbed or pavement and were funded from the state budget. For bicycles and motorbikes it gives 10,000 dong for a day turn, 15,000 dong for a night turn and 25,000 dong for a day-and-night turn, plus monthly rates of 250,000 dong on the streets listed as needing restriction and 200,000 dong on the others, for the core-area and other streets within Ring Road 1.
Whether that tariff reaches a mall is a separate question. Dân trí (19/10/2026, 06:08) quotes the Hanoi Department of Construction as saying that car parks in apartment blocks, shopping centres, hospitals and schools, private car parks and other points are not automatically within Decision 5794. The Department says the price regime for each place depends on its nature, investment source and form of management; for shopping centres it also depends on how the building is managed and used, the service contract and sector rules. For private car parks on market prices, operators may set prices from cost and supply and demand but must follow the rules on public notice and price posting. The Department adds that it will step up checks on price posting and on charging at the published price, and says authorities will deal with conduct such as charging above the posted price.
The same article says per-turn prices at the covered points were adjusted up by an average of about 1.75 to 2 times, depending on vehicle type and area. General guidance, not from either page: a roadside figure such as 10,000 dong is not a stand-in for a mall price, so the price the venue posts is the number to read.
Mall basement motorbike parking in Hanoi: what pages for three venues say
The table keeps each page’s date and wording separate.
| Venue and page | Layout the page states | Motorbike figure the page states | Ticket or fee on the page |
|---|---|---|---|
| AEON MALL Long Bien (mall page read 26/10/2026; parking page dated 19/12/2018) | Outdoor parking: a big roofed area plus rooftop parking | Approx. 6,000 for bicycles and motorcycles together | None given |
| Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi (office page read 26/10/2026) | 2 basements, 8 upper parking levels and front ground parking | 6000 motorbike lots in English; more than 6,000 in Vietnamese | None given |
| Chợ Mơ centre, 459 Bạch Mai (real-estate site page, data date 2024-12-08) | B2 and B3 are parking; B1 is a traditional market | About 300 vehicles, cars and motorbikes together | 3,000 dong per motorbike turn; magnetic card or paper ticket at the gate |
AEON counts bicycles and motorcycles together and Chợ Mơ counts cars and motorbikes together, so the capacity figures are not like-for-like. The 3,000 dong figure comes from a 2024 page on a real-estate site and the 10,000 dong figure from the 2026 roadside decision; no page ties the two together.
AEON MALL Long Bien: outdoor and rooftop parking
The mall’s English information page (read 26/10/2026) lists opening hours of 10:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 22:00 at weekends, car parking of approx. 1,600 and bicycle and motorcycle parking of approx. 6,000. Its parking page, dated 19/12/2018, describes a big parking area with a roof and rooftop parking, and says the outdoor design was planned to avoid accidents it associates with basement parking. For a reader asking about basements, this page describes a different layout. The pages read give no ticket procedure, tariff or motorbike gate, and the listed hours are the mall’s, not the car park’s.
Lotte Mall West Lake: basements, upper levels and gates
Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi’s visitor page (no date shown; read 26/10/2026) says the aquarium is on floors B1 and B2 of the mall and that entry is from 683 Lac Long Quan, through Gate 4 or Gate 5, or from 272 Vo Chi Cong. Parking in the basement (B1 and B2) puts the mall entrance in basement B1, the page says, while parking on the 1st floor through Gate 4 or Gate 5 leads to the aquarium entrance, left of the main entrance. It says “vehicles” and does not mention motorbikes. The mall’s office page (no date shown; read 26/10/2026) gives capacity of over 2000 cars and 6000 motorbikes across 2 basements, 8 upper parking levels and front ground parking; its Vietnamese text says more than 2,000 cars and more than 6,000 motorbikes.
Chợ Mơ: a ticket at the gate, payment when collecting the vehicle
A page on vinaconexchomo.com, a real-estate website that also carries a post on another project (data date 2024-12-08), describes three basements at 459 Bạch Mai: B1 is a traditional market, and B2 and B3 are parking for about 300 vehicles, cars and motorbikes together. It lists magnetic-card technology, automatic scanners and an electronic board showing free spaces, and fees of 30,000 dong per car turn and 3,000 dong per motorbike turn. Its steps: follow the signs to the basement entrance on Bạch Mai street, take a magnetic card or paper ticket at the gate and go to the indicated position, and pay at a counter or an automatic payment machine when collecting the vehicle. The page is promotional in tone and names no car-park operator.
Questions to ask at the venue (general guidance)
These are checklist items, not statements from the pages above.
- Which entrance and level take motorbikes, the basement or a ground-level area?
- What is the price, where is it posted, and does it change between day and night?
- Is a card or a paper ticket issued at the gate, and is payment at a counter or a machine?
- What happens if the ticket is lost, and when does the car park close compared with the mall?
- How are helmets and bags kept secure? No page read describes this, so ask staff.

What the pages leave out
- No page describes a ramp (gradient, width, turning space or shared use with cars) at any of the three venues.
- No page mentions helmets at a mall car park; the aquarium page says “vehicles”, not motorbikes.
- No ticket procedure or tariff was found for AEON MALL Long Bien or Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi.
- No page says which price regime applies to a named mall; the Department says only that malls are not automatically covered by Decision 5794.
- The city portal gives motorbike prices only for the restricted core-area streets and the other streets within Ring Road 1.
- No page gives car-park opening and closing times, as opposed to the mall’s own hours.
- The AEON parking page is dated 19/12/2018 and the Chợ Mơ page 2024-12-08; no venue was visited on the ground, so layouts, gates and prices need checking on arrival.
