Ecopark From Long Bien by Motorbike: Lakes, Paths and a Green Day Out Near the City

About 7 minutes to read

An Ecopark day trip from Long Bien by motorbike starts with a gap: none of the seven pages read for this article gives a motorbike route that begins in Long Bien. Where they name a starting point it is Hoan Kiem Lake, My Dinh, “Hanoi” or “central Hanoi” (the only Long Bien start is a Hanoi bus line, 47A), so this guide sets out what each page says, with its date, and marks what to confirm before leaving. The pages were read on 27 October 2026; hours, fees and parking rules change, so check the developer’s site (ecopark.com.vn) or call before setting out.

Ecopark sits in Hung Yen province

An article by Báo Tin Tức dated 1 June 2025, republished on the Vietnam.vn portal, places Swan Lake in the Ecopark urban area in Van Giang district, Hung Yen province, about 13 km from Hanoi (no starting point is named). The footer of the developer’s English bus page reads “Xuan Quan, Van Giang, Hung Yen”; the footer of its Vietnamese Swan Lake Park page reads “Phụng Công, Hưng Yên”. Both name Hung Yen, so the ride leaves Hanoi. Whether a rental’s terms cover that is a question for the shop; no page addresses it.

Route outlines the pages give

The developer’s outdoor handbook, dated 4 February 2018, gives two directions for private vehicles. A developer news item adds one more, and a 2021 guide on Ecoparker.com, an unofficial commercial portal that also offers property advice, lists several; its other outlines, from Hoan Kiem Lake and from My Dinh, cross Thanh Tri Bridge. None names Long Bien as the start.

Developer handbook (4 Feb 2018)Ring Road 3 (Vành đai 3) to Thanh Tri Bridge, a right turn after it onto the Hanoi–Hung Yen interprovincial road, then 4.2 kmabout 30 minutes in total
Same handbookChuong Duong or Vinh Tuy Bridge, the Bat Trang dike road to the foot of Thanh Tri Bridge, then the same road for 4.2 kmabout 40-45 minutes, depending on the start
Developer news item (4 Feb 2018; event 30 Jun 2015)Vinh Tuy Bridge, Co Linh road, a new road to the junction with the road up to Thanh Tri Bridge, then the interprovincial road, avoiding the narrow Red River dike roadnone stated
Ecoparker guide (2021), from Hoan Kiem LakeChuong Duong or Vinh Tuy Bridge, then the Co Linh interchange (nút giao Cổ Linh) or the Red River dike, then the interprovincial roadnone stated
Same guide, national-road directionNational Road 5A to the Phu Thuy flyover (cầu vượt Phú Thụy), then a right turn onto road 179 to Ecoparknone stated

The news item is the only page that ties road works to Long Bien: on 30 June 2015 the Long Bien District People’s Committee inaugurated a group of urban works that included a road from Ngoc Thuy to the Thach Ban new urban area, 1,385 m long with a 40 m cross-section. The 2021 guide also points riders to a separate guide for passing the Co Linh interchange; that guide was not read, so what it says is unknown.

General guidance, not from these pages: before leaving, enter the destination in a navigation app and read the route preview for expressway warnings; on the road, follow any sign that excludes motorcycles. Hanoi Motorbike Routes in Google Maps: Check Expressways Before Riding covers that check, and Download Offline Hanoi Maps Before a Motorbike Day Trip covers offline maps. None of the pages says which bridge or road on these outlines carries limits for motorbikes, including Ring Road 3 and Thanh Tri Bridge, which several outlines use, so treat every outline as unconfirmed for a motorbike until the signs and the route preview agree.

Swan Lake and the paths around it

The Báo Tin Tức article (1 June 2025) lists a motorbike among the ways to reach Swan Lake from central Hanoi, next to a private car and the Ecobus. It describes a lake with a 50-hectare surface, cobblestone paths shaded by trees and benches along the edge, and a later line gives a lakeside walking path of over 9 km. It says visitors can rent kayaks and that the Bamboo Quarter and the EcoSunday weekend market are less than a 5-minute walk from the lake.

A 2021 page on ecoparkcity.com.vn, a property and news site that uses the Ecopark name, lists camping, barbecue, kite flying, lakeside walks and kayaking, and puts the park’s main gate on Vinh Dao road (đường Vịnh Đảo), which joins the first and second phases. The page, dated 16 February 2021, also has a fee table for kayaks, tents, mats, tarps, a barbecue stove and event space; the amounts are left out because they may have changed.

Walking and cycling inside the township

The developer’s 2018 handbook names the Summer Park and Spring Park as grass areas where families can camp or barbecue, and says swimming, tennis and cycling are served at clubhouses at prices it calls suitable. The 2021 Ecoparker guide gives the township as 500 ha, says walking within one area is possible but between areas is hard, and lists smart bicycle rental (QIQ and MBI Sharing) at Phố Trúc, the Summer Park, Westbay, Aquabay and Swan Lake Park. No page says whether those services still run, what they cost, or whether cycling is accepted on the lakeside path.

Parking, entry and the Ecobus question

The only parking details come from the 2021 Ecoparker guide, which is neither the developer nor a public body. The guide has a parking section (day-parking areas in the first phase, a roadside time limit and motorbike fees at the Westbay and Aquabay buildings), but because the source is unofficial and dated, its spots, limits and amounts are not repeated here. No page read gives parking at Swan Lake Park itself. Hanoi Motorbike Parking: Tickets, Payment and Collection Checklist lists what to check about tickets and payment.

Page (date)Ecobus statement for visitors
Developer handbook (4 Feb 2018)Buses run from Hanoi to Ecopark, free for visitors
Developer bus page (refers to 1 May 2019)Residents only from 1 May 2019; free for all visitors on weekends and public holidays
Ecoparker guide (2021)Residents only, with a bus card; also lists Hanoi bus 47A from the Long Bien interchange to Bat Trang, near the first phase
Báo Tin Tức article (1 Jun 2025)Names “the free Ecobus” as one way from central Hanoi

The statements differ, so the current visitor rule is unconfirmed; the bus page gives ECOPM’s number, 024 6266 4545 (extension 2), for questions. For entry details, the text read from the developer’s Swan Lake Park page held no hours, fees or rules, only a heading, a 9 September 2020 date and links to the Spring, Summer and Autumn park pages; its menu carries a “TICKET BOX” link that was not opened.

Stops near Ecopark

The 2018 handbook says Bat Trang pottery village is only 300 m from Ecopark and the Dong Du guava gardens about 5 minutes by vehicle towards Thanh Tri Bridge. For a ride to Bat Trang that starts in Long Bien, see Bat Trang from Long Bien by Motorbike: Route, Parking and Return Plan.

What the pages leave out

  • Starting point: no page gives a motorbike route from Long Bien; the 13 km and the 30 and 40-45 minute figures are not tied to a Long Bien start, and the 2018 times are for private vehicles, not specifically motorbikes.
  • Road rules: nothing on which bridge or road limits motorbikes, and the separate Co Linh guide was not read.
  • Hours and entry: no page gives park opening hours or a visitor entry fee.
  • Paths: the 9 km figure is one line in one article; the cobblestone and shade wording is that article’s own description, and no page gives lighting or toilets along the paths. A 2021 page puts Phố Trúc 3 km from Swan Lake Park while the 2025 article places a “Bamboo Quarter” under a 5-minute walk away; neither says whether these are the same place.
  • Weather: no official forecast was read; the developer’s 2018 handbook says autumn weather suits outdoor activities and the 2025 article suggests the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the sun, but neither is a forecast.
  • Money: the kayak, tent and parking fees come from 2021 pages not shown to be official, so no amounts are given here.
  • Rental: nothing on riding a rented bike into Hung Yen; ask the shop.
