VinFast Evo200 Spec Sheet: Range, Speed and Charging Facts From VinFast Documents
About 7 minutes to read
Anyone weighing a VinFast Evo200 rental can start with what the maker’s own documents say about range, speed and charging. This article reads VinFast’s Evo200 specification page (dated 22 October 2022), the Evo200 owner’s manual, a brochure for the Evo200 and Evo200 Lite, and one newspaper comparison, and it ties each figure to the document that gives it. The documents do not agree on everything: the manual lists a top speed of 60 km/h where the specification page lists 70 km/h, and the brochure’s motor figure differs from the page’s. None of the documents covers renting the scooter.
The Evo200 figures at a glance
The table sets the three VinFast documents side by side. “Not given” means the text read for that document does not contain the figure; only the specification and battery sections of the manual were read.
| Attribute | Specification page | Owner’s manual | Brochure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top speed | 70 km/h (1 rider, 65 kg) | 60 km/h | 70 km/h |
| Motor power | 1,500 W nominal, in-hub motor | Not given | 2500 W (not labelled nominal or peak) |
| Battery | One LFP battery, 3.5 kWh, 28 kg | Lithium-ion, 48 Ah, 70.4 V, 28 kg average | LFP named; capacity not given as a specification (subscription lines list “3.5 kW” and “1.9 kW” battery packages) |
| Range per charge | 203 km at 30 km/h (1 rider, 65 kg) | Not given | 203 km |
| Standard charge | About 10 h (400 W charger, 0 to 100%) | 10 hours | Not given |
Range: 203 km and the test behind it
The specification page’s battery table gives 203 km per charge and names its test: a speed of 30 km/h with one 65 kg rider. The page’s introduction says up to 200 km. The brochure repeats 203 km without stating conditions in the text read, and the Tien Phong newspaper report puts the Evo200 and Evo200 Lite at up to about 203 to 205 km per charge. In the parts read of these four documents there is no range figure for higher speeds, a passenger or luggage, even though the page lists a load rating of 130 kg.
Speed and power: where the documents disagree
The specification page lists a nominal power of 1,500 W for the rear-wheel in-hub motor, a top speed of 70 km/h and 0 to 50 km/h in 14 seconds, both with one 65 kg rider. It adds a hill figure of 10 km/h on a 20% slope with 2 people at 65 kg, as the page words it. The brochure also gives 70 km/h but lists motor power as 2500 W without saying whether that is nominal or peak, so it cannot be matched to the page’s 1,500 W. The manual’s specification section lists a maximum speed of 60 km/h with no test conditions. None of the documents explains the 10 km/h gap between the manual and the page.
Water resistance
The page also says the motor meets the IP67 water standard, which it describes as stable operation when submerged 0.5 m for 30 minutes. That is the maker’s description of the motor; the manual’s battery section separately warns against letting water into the battery area. For a scooter caught in floodwater, the site has an article titled A Rental Scooter Caught in Floodwater: Stop, Record and Contact the Shop.
Charging times and chargers
The specification page gives these times for two charger sizes:
| Charger | 0 to 100% | 20 to 100% |
|---|---|---|
| 400 W | About 10 h | About 8 h |
| 1000 W | About 4 h | About 3 h 30 |
The page lists the charger type as 400 W and says a 1000 W charger can be used. The manual gives a standard charging time of 10 hours and adds that the time depends on the battery’s condition, such as the voltage when charging starts and wear. It says the charger supplied draws a maximum of about 400 W from an AC 220V/50Hz supply. The pages do not settle whether a 1000 W charger comes with the scooter: the specification page says VinFast supplies both sizes, the brochure heading names only a 400W charger, and the newspaper says the 4-hour fast charge needs a high-power charger bought as an extra.
Charging steps and battery limits in the owner’s manual
The steps below are a summary of the cited manual, whose version is not confirmed to match every Evo200. Use a procedure only after the exact scooter and manual are matched and the shop has shown the correct charger and controls. A charger power figure in an old specification page is not enough to establish that another charger is suitable for a rental bike.
The manual’s charging procedure (section 5.3.1) has five steps:
- Switch the scooter off and turn the battery switch on.
- Open the charging-port cover inside the under-seat storage compartment.
- Connect the charger’s DC plug to the scooter’s charging port.
- Plug the charger’s AC end into the socket.
- Close the seat.
The manual says the battery switch sits in the same compartment as the charging port, that charging is not possible with the switch off, and that the throttle and motor do not work during charging. On temperature, it names 10 to 45 °C as the battery’s best operating range, advises against charging when the battery is at 45 °C or above, suggests waiting about an hour after riding, and says the battery refuses to charge once its inside temperature passes 55 °C. It also says the scooter’s performance is reduced when the battery’s internal temperature is below -10 °C or above 40 °C, or when battery capacity is below 30%, and that keeping charge between 20% and 80% is better for battery life. The battery is fixed under the footwell and the manual says it must not be removed or opened without authorisation, and the charger is not to be left in the storage compartment while the scooter charges. Body, storage and brakes
The specification page’s design table lists a seat height of 750 mm, under-seat storage of 22 L, a weight of 100 kg including the LFP battery, a load rating of 130 kg, ground clearance of 150 mm and dimensions of 1804 x 683 x 1127 mm. Tyres are 90/90-12 front and rear, and the page gives no tyre pressure; a separate site article is titled Motorbike Tyre Pressure for Rental Riders: Read the Manufacturer Label. Brakes are a disc at the front and a mechanical brake at the rear. For connected features the page lists a black-and-white HMI display and GPS tracking, plus a VinFast E-scooter phone app that uses an eSIM to find and locate the scooter, run fault diagnosis and switch the anti-theft function on and off.
The Lite version and the Evo200 name
The brochure describes the Evo200 Lite as a special version for students, with 205 km per charge, 0 to 45 km/h in 14 seconds, a top speed of 49 km/h and motor power of 2450 W. The Tien Phong report gives the same 49 km/h against 70 km/h for the Evo200. On 24 October 2026 the model menu on VinFast’s specification page lists Evo, Evo Lite, Evo Lite Neo, Evo Grand and other models but no entry named Evo200, and the page itself is from 2022. No document says whether the Evo200 is still sold. For electric scooter listings in Hanoi, the site has a page titled Hanoi Electric Scooter Rental | Flexible Day, Week & Month Options.
What the pages leave out
None of the four documents covers renting the scooter. The brochure’s rental package and battery deposit wording belongs to a battery subscription policy, with a monthly distance limit and a per-kilometre surcharge, so it is not a scooter rental. In the text read, no document gives rental deposit or damage terms. In the text read, none gives a real-world range, a range at speeds above 30 km/h, or a range for passengers or hills; the manual, in the text read, gives no range figure and notes only that battery capacity falls over time and that performance drops in the conditions described above. The 60 km/h and 70 km/h top speeds are not reconciled, nor are the 1,500 W nominal and 2500 W motor figures. The manual’s document code (BOL00009361-07) carries no date in the text read, so the documents do not show whether it describes the same scooter version as the 2022 page.
